BEN

GIBSON

Ben Gibson is a recording, mixing and live sound engineer working in the broad spectrum of underground music. With an Albini-leaning mindset, his goal with every recording is to capture the sound of the band as if they were playing the best show of their career and translate that feeling through the speakers to the listener.

Specialising in big drums and loud guitars, he isn’t afraid to experiment to find the sound you are looking for. Ben is also an accomplished songwriter and instrumentalist, with many different musical projects over his lifetime. The latest, a post-metal project called SLOWCUT, has played shows around Australia and supported some of the genre’s local and international heavyweights.

Ben has also written music for screen and games and has a love for synthesisers, guitar amps, effects pedals and the overuse of reverb and delay.
